As a Site Agent, you will be key to the construction of a new HVDC converter station as part of the UK's single largest electricity transmission project.nThis will see the creation of a 525kV, 2GW, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea transmission cable running from Peterhead, Scotland to Drax, North Yorkshire

Qualifications & ExperiencenThe following are mandatory requirements:nDegree, HND in Engineering or equivalent.nCSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Manager.nSMSTS.nSuccessful experience and performance at Sub Agent level (or equivalent as deemed appropriate by Senior Management).nMust be able to demonstrate leadership and management capabilities to manage less complex projects, characterised by short tender/project execution time, low resource tie-up and low risk profile.

The following are desirable requirements:nQualified to Chartered Engineer level (MICE or equivalent).n7 years of experience in the construction industry.nSMSTS.

Responsibilities:nYou will be personally responsible for:nThe Management and oversight of all areas of the project which have been assigned to you and delivering successful project outcomes.nCommunicating effectively at all levels including site management, technical specialists, commercial staff, planners, engineers, supervisory staff operatives, suppliers, third parties and client representatives.nMaintaining high personal standards in health and safety and supporting others in the same.nEnsuring the adoption of Beyond Zero and Don't Walk By initiatives across the wider team.nMaintaining high standards in environmental awareness and behaviour.nDriving quality delivery through effective planning and right first time delivery.nLeading, supervising and mentoring your reportees and other team members.nManaging, supervising and mentoring the project team as appropriate.nAdopting, maintaining and promoting cost-conscious management through efficient use of all resources.nMaintaining a good working relationship with the client and his/her project management and supervisory team and the supply chain.nEncouraging repeat business by adopting a professional attitude with clients and stakeholders.nEstablishing, maintaining and monitoring an effective, programme based cost management system, to facilitate financial control with reliable QF preparation and reporting.nEnsuring realistic programmes are prepared, managed, monitored, reviewed, and updated according to the requirements of the project and contract.nEnsuring processes are in place for the preparation, review and briefing of method statements, activity plans and risk assessments and measures implemented to ensure they are reviewed and updated accordingly.nEnsuring systems are in place for the timely preparation of records for payment purposes in appropriate form.nEnsuring all necessary site based appointments are made with suitably trained and experienced staff.nUsing appropriate and effective communication methods such as recorded internal weekly progress meetings to communicate with the whole project team.nKeeping line management appraised of potential risks and opportunities associated with the project and the potential for future work opportunities.nMaintaining close working relationship with company support departments to ensure the project receives maximum support and is able to maximise opportunities for the sharing of knowledge.nMaintaining a close working relationship with the procurement department to ensure compliant and advantageous procurement arrangements for the project.nSupporting all staff under your supervision in achieving their own performance and development goals.nKeeping abreast of progress and developments in the industry and specific professional fields.nEstablishing close working relationship with Works supervisory staff (Works Managers/General Foreman) to ensure the cost-effective management of labour and plant.nSupporting work winning and business development activity as directed by line management.nUndertaking performance and development reviews as required by the Company and following up on the development activities identified.nLeading and Managing all staff and personnel assigned to you.
