This role sits within the Manufacturing Engineering team with a focus on manufacturing test support. Working within the manufacturing engineering team this role is primarily to develop and maintain production test and verification software applications for sub-assemblies, modules and final products. With a bias on PC application software the role is to design, produce test applications to ensure delivered product quality.nDocumentation for test strategies, specifications and work instructions is key to ensuring that all products have the appropriate level of testing and verification prior to delivery.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•The key aim of this role is to develop software applications for functional testing of product and data loggingn•Develop and maintain product tracking software tools and databasesn•Provide test specifications for module, sub-assembly, final assembly and QA testsn•Assist with the development of production test strategies Module and Final assembliesn•Maintain existing test software to keep pace with NPI, new variants and change controln•Develop and maintain a close relationship with design engineering team to ensure products are designed for optimum manufacturing test solutionsn•Support factory test data logging on internal network and reporting toolsn•Assist in the development of variant verification processes and tracking automationn•Assist with prototype builds and NPI, feedback design for assembly / test issues to engineering teamn•Provide production test support, assist in diagnostics and failure analysisn•Specify and implement production test IT equipment in line with IT policies and proceduresn•Identify test escapes and implement continuous improvementsn•Provide work instructions to support product test and configurationn•Work closely with the customer software and support teams to coordinate and integrate production test software
Experience
•3-5 years in a software application development role ideally in a manufacturing test environmentn•Electronics hardware knowledge is an advantagen•Experience of automated test and integrated test systems is desirable
Skills and Personal Attributes
•Core coding skills in C# using visual studion•Good written and communication skillsn•Must have excellent IT productivity tool knowledge (MS Office tools, Excel, Word etc)n•Experience of interfacing with API’s and control of external peripherals via serial interfacesn•A proficient knowledge of Linux OS (Ubuntu)n•Understanding of SQL data interfacen•Web developmentn•SoC coding experience, Embedded firmware, Arduino code, RPi or BeagleBone etc is an advantagen•Knowledge and experience of LabView is an advantagen•An understanding of electronic principlesn•Able to demonstrate an ability for problem solvingn•Proficient data analysis skillsn•Self-motivated and able to work alone or in a team environment
