About the role:A Curriculum Manager in Automotive & Engineering oversees the development and management of our automotive & engineering related academic programmes and courses, while promoting high standards of teaching themselves, alongside striving to demonstrate the efficient delivery of learning & support for both students and staff. You would work closely with the college to design and update curriculum content, ensuring it meets regulatory standards, industry requirements and educational objectives. This includes integrating current automotive / engineering practices, technologies and research into the curriculum. You will collaborate with external partners such as regulatory bodies to stay abreast of industry trends and ensure program relevance. Additionally, you will monitor student progress, evaluate teaching methods and implement strategies to enhance learning outcomes and student success in automotive / engineering related fields.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and manage a team of academic staff providing guidance, support and professional development opportunities to ensure effective teaching and student support, whilst also maintaining an active teaching role within the departmentFoster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages innovation, creativity and continuous improvement in curriculum delivery and student engagementCoordinate team efforts to develop and implement student support strategies such as tutoring programmes, academic advising and learning resources, to meet diverse student needsEngage with student feedback mechanisms (surveys etc) to gather insights and data for continuous improvement of teaching practices, curriculum design and student support initiatives, while actively teaching and interacting with studentsManage resources effectively to support curriculum development and deliveryMaintain program accreditation and compliance with educational standardsThe Candidate:Advanced degree in a relevant field like automotive or engineering would be advantageousSignificant experience in curriculum development, teaching and management, preferable in an automotive / engineering or educational settingStrong leadership and managerial skills to lead curriculum development teams and manage resources effectivelyPassion for education and a commitment to enhancing students learning and success.Proactive and forward thinking mindset to drive continuous improvement in curriculum design and implementationDiversity and InclusionEquality, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are central to the work of City of Portsmouth College.
