Interim Financial Controller role

Role Purpose
To create, operate and maintain the financial controls necessary to ensure the compliant & efficient financial management of the legal entity. Managing the central finance team to ensure the provision of financial support in a timely and controlled manner. To oversee accounting activities, ensuring that the company's ledgers accurately reflect the operations of the business. To provide strategic input into decision-making, forecasting and budgeting at a company level, whilst ensuring adherence to company policies and statutory requirements. Significant financial and commercial management experience and experience of managing a finance team is required for this role, you must be fully qualified & also hold SC clearance, or be willing to go through this process.
Key Accountabilities:
Manage, coach and motivate the Central Finance team to develop their performance, maximise their effectiveness and ensure company values, ethical standards, organisational vision, policies and procedures and contractual requirements are always adhered to.
Manage the consolidation, reporting (via the consolidation tool) and analysis of company results, budgets and forecasts, including cash flow, providing information and recommendations, to the CFO, to enable accurate reporting and effective advice to the business.
Own the company's ledgers and finance system, ensuring the finance system is being utilised in the most efficient way. Helping the team to document best practice processes for future knowledge transfer.
Create, operate & ongoing maintenance of a financial control environment, to include quarterly reconciliation of the Balance Sheet. This control framework will need to be regularly monitored, and adherence or otherwise, noted and corrective action taken. Control needs to be sufficient to pass external audit.
Working with the Group finance team in Israel to prepare for SOX controls establishment within the legal entity.
Own and manage the relationship with the company's auditors & tax advisors. Ensuring audit activities are planned and executed successfully, resulting in filing of accounts in a timely manner. Ensure all tax returns are maintained and remain accurate.
Analyse financial, highlighting issues and making recommendations that contribute to the strategic plan.
Responsible for managing the inter-co-agreement process with group companies at each quarter end.
Oversee the sales and purchase ledger functions as well as the provision of overhead reporting to the business.
Manage the review and analysis of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements to ensure that they are fully and accurately maintained and give a true reflection of the financial position of the business units.
Ensuring fixed asset reporting is in place and maintained on a regular basis, with annual FAR audit exercises being conducted.
Control of the company's accounting related activities, including receivables, payables, expenses, treasury & banking relationship.
