Composite Technician

Air Personnel are delighted to be supporting their client in Manchester for the role of Composite Technician
Role Purpose - this provides an overview of the main objectives of the role
A Composite Technician is responsible for the repair of aircraft composite parts, both interior and exterior, to a level of competency where they can work alone and be awarded a stamp for signing off work under the Company Quality System.
Key responsibilities of Composite Technician- these are descriptive of the key elements of the role but are not an exhaustive list
1. Repairing any aircraft composite components in accordance with approved repair schemes.
2. Able to sand and lay-up composite GRP and carbon material panels/components.
3. Handling and packaging of materials and components used in a repair.
4. Maintenance of records for the Company’s administrative and quality purposes.
Key skills/experience/qualifications – these identify the necessary competencies to carry out the role
You will have a passion for ensuring high quality at all times. You will be versatile and have the ability to problem solve whilst having a keen eye for detail. You will be conscientious and thorough in your approach to work. You will be able to work in a small team or on your own.
Essential:
* Ability to problem solve
* Able to read drawings and understand BOM’s
* Enthusiastic personality
* Able to communicate effectively using verbal and written skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Experience of working with aircraft composite parts
* 5-10 years experience of working with composite material
* An understanding of Part 145 regulations and standards
* Safe working practices
* Driving licence
Desirable:
* Have attention to detail
* Excellent time keeping
* Be able to work using own initiative whilst also being a part of a team
