This is an exciting opportunity to develop the finance function of a fast growing business, implementing effective controls and processes and developing reporting to highlight profit improvement opportunities. This role will lead the day to day accounting operations working closely with the CFO and the operational management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare monthly Management accounts
Develop and maintain weekly reporting of key sales and cost drivers
Ensure effective management of the AP function ensuring all purchase orders, supplier invoices, credit notes and expenses are accurately recorded in the finance system
Ensure effective management of the AR function ensuring all sales invoices and debit notes are accurately recorded in the finance system and customers pay promptly
Develop and maintain a pragmatic PO and Invoice authorisation process.
Oversee the company's payroll, including managing outsourced relationships for payroll preparation and ensuring that all payments and reporting requirements are completed in a timely manner
Provide support and accounting expertise to Operations
Prepare and submit all appropriate tax records including monthly VAT returns
Management of balance sheet and account reconciliations throughout the year, leading to a streamlined year end process
Look to build the finance team as we grow.
Support Project Finance for the development of future farms and other capital projects as required
KPI tracking
Develop ERP systems that are suitable for growth ambitions
The Candidate
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA)
Personable, with a positive outlook and able to communicate up and down the organisational structure and advocate for the creation of and adherence to robust processes and procedures.
Strong Excel skills with ability to process and summarise large volumes of data, preferably with SQL or
Tableau skills
Track record of developing functionality of ERP systems to support business growth
Organised and able to deliver workflows effectively
Strong communication skills
Natural ability to take initiative and respond quickly and effectively to problems
Flexible approach to working hours, particularly when faced with company deadlines

Salary: £48k-55k + subject to experience
