Rate: £300pd Outside IR35

Contract Duration: 6-12 Months

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MCR (Master Control Room) Engineer to join a dynamic team on a 6-12 months contract basis. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with uplinks and downlinks in a fast-paced, ad-hoc environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our broadcast and media services, contributing to our reputation for delivering high-quality content to our audience.


Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and Manage Broadcast Operations:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Master Control Room.
  • Ensure the continuous and uninterrupted transmission of broadcast signals.
  • Manage and monitor multiple uplinks and downlinks, ensuring optimal signal quality.


Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide immediate technical support for any transmission issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems related to signal quality and broadcast equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on broadcast systems and equipment.


Coordination and Communication:

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth broadcast operations.
  • Communicate effectively with content providers, satellite operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Respond swiftly to ad-hoc broadcast requirements and changes.


Compliance and Quality Control:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards of broadcast quality.
  • Keep detailed records of broadcast activities, incidents, and resolutions.


Qualifications and Experience:

Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in a Master Control Room environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of uplink and downlink technologies and operations.
  • Proficiency with broadcast equipment, signal monitoring, and transmission systems.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.


Professional Experience:

  • Proven track record of working in a broadcast and media service provider.
  • Experience with ad-hoc broadcast operations and managing live events.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in broadcast technology.


Educational Requirements:

  • A degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in broadcast technology and operations are a plus.
