Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MCR (Master Control Room) Engineer to join a dynamic team on a 6-12 months contract basis. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with uplinks and downlinks in a fast-paced, ad-hoc environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our broadcast and media services, contributing to our reputation for delivering high-quality content to our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and Manage Broadcast Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Master Control Room.
- Ensure the continuous and uninterrupted transmission of broadcast signals.
- Manage and monitor multiple uplinks and downlinks, ensuring optimal signal quality.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide immediate technical support for any transmission issues.
- Diagnose and resolve problems related to signal quality and broadcast equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on broadcast systems and equipment.
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth broadcast operations.
- Communicate effectively with content providers, satellite operators, and other stakeholders.
- Respond swiftly to ad-hoc broadcast requirements and changes.
Compliance and Quality Control:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards of broadcast quality.
- Keep detailed records of broadcast activities, incidents, and resolutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Technical Expertise:
- Extensive experience in a Master Control Room environment.
- In-depth knowledge of uplink and downlink technologies and operations.
- Proficiency with broadcast equipment, signal monitoring, and transmission systems.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Professional Experience:
- Proven track record of working in a broadcast and media service provider.
- Experience with ad-hoc broadcast operations and managing live events.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in broadcast technology.
Educational Requirements:
- A degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in broadcast technology and operations are a plus.
