Illuminate is working closely with an accredited Carbon Disclosure Project Partner to recruit a Sustainability Analyst or Technical Executive to join their growing team. They provide services and technology to report on the progress to Net-Zero. By linking advice, granularity and data automation, their clients are empowered to de-carbonise more quickly, whether through the lens of operations, products, or supply chains. They provide businesses with end-to-end insight to measure, reduce and disclose their scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Their innovative approach is transforming the market by providing advice without relying on spend data or offset calculations.

Why do we need you?

We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Consultant to join the team on a permanent basis at their offices in Stratford, London. In this role, you will work closely with the carbon insights, commercial, and product development teams to help customers de-carbonise using their advanced technology.

What will you be responsible for?n-

Project Management : Manage and deliver complex client projects (Scope 3 using activity-led data, Product Lifecycle Assessments, and carbon footprints) from scoping to delivery, coordinating with team members and clients to meet deadlines and budget constraints.n-

Insight Delivery : Contribute to and deliver high-quality insights that maximize environmental impact reduction and guide external communication and claims.n-

Sales Support : Assist the commercial team during the discovery stages of the sales process, including proposal writing and additional sales requirements.n-

Commercial Development : Identify potential commercial opportunities and collaborate with the sales team to develop them for current and new clients.n-

Product Improvement : Assist the product and development team in enhancing the scientific robustness of our offerings.n-

Environmental Knowledge : Advance their understanding of applied environmental science and develop company-wide positions on environmental issues.n-

Protocol Adherence : Ensure adherence to methodologies, processes, and opinions outlined in their Protocol and develop the Protocol with external LCA consultants, including governance and assurance processes.n-

Marketing Support : Provide expert opinion and written content for marketing and sales materials.n-

Regulatory Awareness : Stay up-to-date with the latest environmental regulations and industry conversations.n-

Professional Development : Support the educational and professional development of colleagues.

What experience, skills and attributes will you need to thrive in this role

-

Technical Expertise : 3-5+ years of everyday experience with SimaPro, EcoInvent, and other leading emissions factor databases.n-

Scope 3 Reporting : 3-5+ years of experience in delivering activity-led Scope 3 reporting (spend-based alone is insufficient).n-

Standards Knowledge : 3-5+ years of experience with relevant ISOs and the GHG Protocol.n-

Reporting Experience : Experience preparing submissions for CDP and SBTi.n-

Non-Financial Reporting : Experience with GRI standards and an understanding of upcoming regulations such as CSDR and EUDR is preferable.n-

EcoSpold2:

Experience with EcoSpold2 is preferable.n-

Passion for Sustainability : Deep commitment to sustainability in both professional and personal life, with an understanding of the drivers, challenges, and solutions related to climate change and other environmental issues.n-

Relationship Building : Ability to build strong working relationships with internal colleagues, external suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and escalate issues appropriately.n-

Organizational Skills : Highly organized and structured, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.n-

Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a natural ability to ask questions and listen.n-

Time Management : Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.n-

IT Literacy : Proficiency in office IT applications, including strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.n-

Adaptability : Flexible and able to work under pressure, maintaining attention to detail.
