The Opportunity
As Principal Mechanical Process Engineer you’ll provide expert solutions across various sectors, you’ll work seamlessly within a multi-disciplinary team, trusted by their clients to deliver inventive solutions to complex technical design challenges.
With extensive experience in delivering solutions using innovative design, they’re able to understand their client’s visions and support them in realising the potential of their products. 
Due to increased project expansion, our clients team has grown and exciting new projects have landed, they have opportunities for a contract Principal Mechanical Process Engineer to become members of their friendly, supportive, and creative engineering team, working with key clients on a project in the Nuclear sector.
Contract Estimated Duration – 6 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
Location
Manchester (hybrid 1 day per week in office, balance remote)
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Perform the role of mechanical lead on a large nuclear sector project.
Completing and coordinating design within the mechanical process team.
Produce mechanical engineering design deliverables (including calculations, datasheets, specifications and schedules)
Contribute to safety reviews and other risk assessments
Checking of mechanical deliverables to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements.
Reviewing vendor quotations and liaising with equipment and package vendors.
Utility system specification, design, and capacity evaluation
Checking of piping design documents, including checking isometrics and layout drawings.
Assist in plant layout development.
Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Significant experience in the nuclear sector.
Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams.
This role is for a Mechanical Process engineer NOT building services Engineer.
You must be willing and able to obtain security clearance if you don’t have existing clearance.It's great if you also have the following 
Currently hold Security Clearance.
Chartered Engineer Status.
Experience in nuclear fuel reprocessing.
