About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in supporting students with challenging behaviours, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Working closely with the school’s SENCO and class teachers, you will provide one-to-one or small group support to students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Your role will involve implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans, as well as monitoring and recording student progress. Strong communication skills are essential as you collaborate with parents, providing updates on student achievements and progress. This full-time position offers an immediate start, providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students in Collindale, London.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviours, preferably within a school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) support are desirable.
• Experience implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans is advantageous.
• Candidates should demonstrate a patient and resilient attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting students with challenging behaviours, including violent outbursts, in a calm and patient manner.
• Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring a safe learning environment for all students.
• Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans.
• Providing one-to-one or small group support to students, as needed.
• Monitoring and recording student progress, communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.
