The

Utility Development Program Manager

will lead various aspects of power diligence, acquisition, and delivery across Europe. This leader will ultimately be responsible for ensuring utility capacity is vetted, secured, and delivered at each campus to support data centers. This role will interface and collaborate with many critical stakeholders, including but not limited to: pre-development leads evaluating new properties; operations leaders managing load growth projections; sales teams coordinating customer demands; procurement teams engaging with power equipment vendors; and development team project leaders planning and building new data centers.

Responsibilities - other duties may be assigned:nLead power due diligence for prospective sitesnSubmit power applications to and review power study results from utilitiesnNegotiate power contracts for new and expansion capacity, alongside the Energy TeamnCreate and Implement strategy to ensure timely delivery of power delivery to development sites as needed to support existing and future leasesnManagement of partners and consultants related to electrical substation design and constructionnManage schedule and reporting of milestones for all utility projectsnManage budgets and cost forecasting of utility projects, including construction and equipmentnFoster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver utility developments, including QTS partners, power consultants, utilities, OEMs, EPCs, and equipment vendorsnProcure substation long lead equipment, transformers, HV breakers, and MV switchgearnProcure and manage construction of multiple substation sites simultaneouslynDeliver utility projects on-schedule, on-budget, and as-scopednTrack and report on status and schedule of power delivery timelinesnTrack and provide inputs to required utility metrics via various internal dashboardsnPrepare executive updates and project update presentations for senior leadership

Essential Qualifications:nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction, or equivalent professional experiencenSix or more years of medium/high voltage construction managementnSix or more years or more years’ experience running multiple projects at the same time or related professional experience, with at least half in EuropenKnowledge of substation industry partners and transformer manufacturersnBe able to travel up to 50% of the time or as needed to support projectsnDemonstrated experience working directly with executives and collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization

Desired Qualifications:nFive plus years of electrical substation construction, with at least half in EuropenTechnical expertise in High and Medium Voltage Electrical Design or ConstructionnExperience leading due diligence on prospective large-scale power opportunitiesnExposure to the power study and contracting process at various utilitiesnExperience managing large portfolio of work

Additional Skills:nFluency in English required; fluency in other European languages strongly preferrednStrong verbal and written communication skillsnAbility to independently manage deadlines and support staffnAbility to influence cross-discipline teamsnAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth companynAbility to prioritize, multitask, and deliver high quality work in tight timeframes
