Are you an experienced Cook Supervisor looking for a new opportunity? Our client, a busy and vibrant Civic Centre Cafe, is seeking a talented individual to join their team as a Cook Supervisor. This temporary position offers competitive pay at £12.59 per hour, Monday to Friday. The hours will be 7.30 am to 12.30pm or 12.00pm to 5pm.
As a Cook Supervisor, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of the kitchen. Your responsibilities will include supervising and coordinating the kitchen staff, as well as actively participating in food preparation, cooking, and service. You will be responsible for planning nutritious menus, placing and completing food orders, and ensuring the kitchen operates in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Here are some of the key duties and responsibilities:
Plan menus following guidelines from Catering and Cleaning Services
Ordering and requisitioning food and equipment
Maintaining records and paperwork according to safety guidelines
Conducting stocktaking of food and equipment
Safeguarding resources, including equipment and cash
Adhering to hygiene regulations and Health and Safety requirements
Participating in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals
Conducting probation reviews and providing training to new staff
Performing staff appraisals and addressing any performance issues
Having a good understanding of catering equipment
Fulfilling any reasonable request or duty as required
Acting in line with the organisation's policies and codes of conduct
Participating in staff development, appraisal, and training
Complying with the organisation's agreed policies and procedures
Contributing to service improvement and development
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience as a Cook Supervisor, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality food. You should have a good understanding of kitchen operations and be knowledgeable about health and safety regulations.
