The Principal Designer Responsibilities
Overseeing the design and construction process to ensure compliance with CDM regulations.
Managing design risk assessments and providing CDM advice to clients and project teams.
Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information (PCI) and construction phase plans (CPP).
Conducting site visits and health and safety audits to ensure project safety and regulatory compliance.
Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
Leading CDM workshops and training sessions for project teams.
The Principal Designer Must Have
Proven experience in delivering Principal Designer services within the construction industry, preferably in education projects.
A strong understanding of CDM regulations and health and safety requirements.
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
Membership in a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH, APS).
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A proactive and client-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
