An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned IT leader to join a dynamic and forward-thinking company as the Head of IT. This role is pivotal in overseeing all IT functions, ensuring that systems and applications align with business objectives while maintaining the highest standards of security and efficiency.
Job Purpose
The Head of IT will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company's IT infrastructure. This individual will ensure that all IT systems meet the business's needs and will lead efforts to enhance security, drive cloud adoption, and develop bespoke applications using low code tools.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: The Head of IT will develop and implement the IT strategy, ensuring it aligns with best practices and supports the company's long-term goals.
Operational Planning: This role involves creating robust IT plans that guarantee the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT systems.
Cloud and Application Development: The successful candidate will guide the company's journey towards cloud adoption and oversee the development of custom applications.
IT Security: They will lead efforts to maintain and enhance the IT security posture, working towards compliance with standards such as CMMC or ISO 27001.
Team Management: The Head of IT will manage and motivate the IT team, including direct oversight of the Infrastructure & Security Manager and Service Delivery Manager.
Escalation Point: They will act as the final escalation point for IT-related matters within the business.
Supplier Management: The role includes managing key supplier relationships, contracts, and associated costs.
Cost Control: The Head of IT will enhance the monitoring of IT expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Change Control: Implementing a robust change control process to support business needs while minimizing disruption is a key responsibility.
Project Management: They will be prepared to take on project management responsibilities for significant IT projects.
Key Skills and Experience
Expertise in technologies relevant to supporting a manufacturing organization.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a small team effectively.
Experience in overseeing IT projects from start to finish.
Competence in selecting and managing third-party vendors and service providers.
Proficiency in developing bespoke applications using low code technologies.
An innovative mindset, with a focus on exploring new technologies and best practices.
Strong skills in identifying and mitigating IT-related risks, including cybersecurity threats.
Familiarity with data security, privacy, and IT governance regulations.Systems Experience
