Technical Sales Manager

A leading distributor of chemical ingredients to the European personal care industry are currently looking for a sales executive / sales manager to join their high performing team.
The successful individual will bring with them prior commercial experience from a personal care end product manufacturer or other chemical distributor and although the role will be of a hybrid nature, the individual will be based in the vicinity of the Buckinghamshire area.
Key responsibilities:
* Developing strong technical understanding of our wide range of Personal Care ingredients, their chemistry, benefits and formulation characteristics.
* Understanding the needs of each of customer.
* Communicating scientific information clearly and concisely.
* Supporting customers throughout their development process, from concept to product launch.
* Visiting UK customers to develop long-term working relationships with their R&D, Purchasing and Marketing teams.
* Maintaining existing business and creating new opportunities with customers in the portfolio
* Helping the Technical Development Chemists to create new Personal Care formulations that demonstrate the benefits of products.
* Identifying new business opportunities
* Attending relevant Cosmetic and Toiletry industry meetings, seminars, exhibitions and symposia to increase knowledge of the Personal Care industry.
Skills, experience and qualifications:
* A strong scientific education and preferably a degree in a scientific subject
* Proven experience within technical sales or account management with a personal care product manufacturer or chemical distributor
* The ability to learn and understand new technologies
* A scientific approach to problem solving
* The ability to work under pressure
* Full UK driving licence
* The ability and aspiration to travel
