The Facilities Manager will lead a team and manage service providers to deliver high-quality facilities management services, optimise space utilisation, and maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Corporate Facilities Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be well-organised, hands-on, and possess a strong blend of project management and client relationship management skills. They should have a passion for delivering outstanding results in a dynamic environment and the ability to optimise space and equipment use while reducing operating costs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement facility management plans and strategies to optimise resource utilisation and improve operational efficiency.
* Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity, etc.) and refurbishments.
* Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and building codes, regulations, and standards.
* Coordinate and supervise facility staff, including technicians, custodial staff, and contractors.
* Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritise repair and maintenance projects.
* Review utilities consumption and strive to minimise costs.
* Manage budgets and financial records related to facility operations, including forecasting and cost control.
* Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to ensure the longevity and efficiency of equipment and systems.
* Maintain accurate documentation and records of all facility assets, maintenance activities, and service contracts.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand facility needs and develop plans to meet those needs.
* Oversee contractor and vendor relationships, including procurement and contract negotiation.
* Control activities including parking space allocation, waste disposal, and building security.
* Allocate office space according to needs.
* Handle insurance plans and service contracts.
* Keep financial and non-financial records.
* Perform analysis and forecasting.
* Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in facility management.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or relevant position.
* Large multi-site FM experience (hard and soft services for both owned and managed assets).
* Corporate experience.
* Strong contract management skills.
* Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
* Experience managing large budgets and knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
* Good analytical/critical thinking.
Desirable:
* Bachelor’s degree in facility management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
* Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFM) or degree will be an advantage.
