Model Maker

The successful candidate will have previous experience of model making in a high-level motorsport environment, have a good attention to detail, work calmly and accurately under pressure, work positively and enthusiastically in a small team and have a flexible attitude to helping fulfil the requirements of the department and team as a whole.

Working day shift in the Model Shop Team, the Model Maker will primarily be focused on the manufacture, assembly and testing of components for our wind tunnel test program. Whilst also ensuring all aero and race car requirements are always met to the highest possible standard.nWeekend wind tunnel sessions in rotation is also a key requirement of the role.

The Successful candidate must have the following attributes:nDemonstrate experience in the manufacture of wind tunnel models and the components required for aero testing through various manufacturing processes.nCompetent in identifying potential shortages of parts or concerns of part quality and raising these issues with the Model department leads.nEnsuring all parts are prepared for the wind tunnel sessions to the highest possible standard.nAttending and proactively participate in meetings as required.nPrevious experience of wind tunnel testing essential.nMeeting the requirements and demands of the busy periods.nProactively develop methods within the department to improve manufacturing times, quality and efficiency.nTo possess an in-depth knowledge of wind tunnel models and systems.nPrevious experience in inspection of model assembly advantageous.nTo maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard.nAbility to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.nAbility to deal with technical challenges as they arise and know when to ask if unsure.nBe results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills.nAbility to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
