Digital Mock-up Engineer – The Role

This role is an integral part of our team’s ambition to deliver high quality, well integrated engineering projects that are right first time. The DMU function is a crucial part of the design process that facilitates our many engineering and operations functions to work cross functionally and collaboratively, reporting issues concisely and accurately for timely resolution prior to launch.

Working closely with Chief Engineers to help ensure our engineering standards are understood and adhered to, striving for engineering excellence throughout. This proactive function helps deliver best in class engineering in a fast-paced environment, preventing issues occurring downstream thus improving reliability, performance, and quality of the race car year on year.

Main Missions:

  • Ensure the DMU function provides a collaborative environment that enables engineering excellence to be achieved.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure the car is sympathetic to the requirements of all functions within the team, without compromising quality, performance, or reliability.
  • Ensure the car is compliant with the teams standard operating procedures.
  • Raise the level of engineering quality within the EO, from idea through to race execution.
  • Embrace new and existing CAD and PLM tools to maximise the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of all DMU activities.
  • Work closely with IT, PLM, and Partners/Suppliers to ensure suitable technologies are utilised to deliver a best-in-class DMU Function.
  • Liaising with all relevant functions within The Team to ensure the DMU is accurate, up-to-date, and complete. The applicant must be proactive with excellent attention to detail, able to efficiently detect, communicate and re-check any issues.
  • Work with the Power Unit (PU) division to ensure the timely availability of the latest PU DMU within the Enstone CAD environment. Making sure the latest full vehicle DMU is available to our PU division. Ensuring the process of both importing and exporting both the vehicle and PU DMU is efficient and complimentary.
  • Concisely and accurately report issues arising from DMU analysis. Ensuring the responsible person is efficiently notified and suitably equipped to resolve issue.
  • Analyse year on year DMU issues and Event Fault data to ensure the function is driving a right first-time methodology, targeting zero open DMU issues at project launch.
  • Develop the tools and technology used for DMU analysis to drive the function towards being the best in class.
  • Schedule and run regular DMU reviews for trackside personnel to ensure engineering is sympathetic to operational requirements.

 

Digital Mock-up Engineer – The Person

We are looking for an individual who has experience of integration engineering and the digital mock-up tools coupled with some design experience preferably.

The successful applicant should be degree level educated in Engineering and be able to demonstrate their ability to lead and facilitate collaboration.

The successful candidate will be well organised, structured to efficiently execute project. An methodical approach to problem solving and leading to successful issue resolution is key.

The applicant should be a 3DX literate and a seasoned user of the digital mock-up tools and visionary in their implementation within the business.
