Job title: Food Service AssistantDo you want to work with an organisation that makes a difference to peoples lives and yours?Our Company Benefits for Food Service Assistant:Working for us means youll benefit from:31 days holiday (including bank holidays enhancements) ProrateLife assuranceFree ParkingDiscounts available with certain car manufacturersAccess to PerkboxEmployee Assistance ProgrammeWellbeing supportRewards and incentivesLong service recognitionOvertime shift optionsEvent daysMaternity, Paternity and Adoption leaveJoin us and be a part of the Ben family delivering person centred care services to residents which meets their individual personal, social and emotional needs and which promotes and encourages individual residents independence, dignity and choice within their home or a residential or day care environment.Key role responsibilities/duties for a Food Service Assistant:To assist the *Executive Head Chef/Head Chef/Chef(*dependant on location)in the delivery of a high standard of catering services to internal and external customersTo assist with the preparation and cooking of appetising, nutritionally balanced meals, which meet the varied needs of customers, using appropriate quantities and ingredients, ensuring that food is ready for service at the correct timeTo ensure that all menu items and garnishes are prepared and ready for serviceTo deliver food prepared within Ben premises, supporting food service to customers as required and to collect catering service equipment following meal serviceTo prepare the dining room for food service and provide food and beverage service to customersTo store food appropriately in fridges, freezers and storesTo participate in the implementation of quality assurance programmes within catering services as requiredTo comply with current Fire, Health & Safety at Work, Safe Food Handling and Environmental Health legislation by observing Bens policies and procedures and always carrying out safe procedures and practices, following appropriate reporting arrangements as requiredTo maintain a clean working environment in the kitchen, cold room and stores, cleaning down work areas and items of equipment used during the day in line with cleaning rota requirementsTo always operate catering equipment safely and in compliance with manufactures instructionsTo always work within the required Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and Ben policies and proceduresTo follow current infection control guidelines to minimise risk to customers, visitors, colleagues and BenTo comply with Bens Safeguarding- guidelines and reporting procedures protocols and requirements on maintaining confidentialityHours of work for a Food Service Assistant:16 hours per week over 2 days - 10am to 6.30pmLocation of role for a Food Service Assistant:Berwick-upon-Tweed, TD15 2JZSalary for a Food Service Assistant:£11.44Please click the Apply button below to submit a copy of your CV for the Food Service Assistant role.
