Job Title: Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Leicester
Salary/Rate: £60,000 to £75,000
  
Verso Recruitment are looking for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to guide the design and development of next generation products. This role includes team leadership, ensuring mechanical performance, manufacturability, and safety compliance.
  
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design for new products.
- Ensure mechanical integrity, manufacturability, and safety.
- Conduct design reviews and provide problem-solving guidance.
- Mentor senior engineers and recruit new talent.
- Support strategic technology advancements.
  
Essential Skills and Experience required for the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Confident and intelligent Design lead able to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Finite Element Analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in complex mechanical systems design.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, Catia, ProE) and FEA tools.
- Competence in MS Office and math packages (e.g., MATLAB, Mathematica).
  
Desirable Skills:
- Multidisciplinary knowledge (electrical, electronics, software).
- Experience with custom products and customer interactions.
