Technical Manager Key Responsibilities
* Be responsible for the delivery of engineering services through the allocation of internal and external resource, as required, to meet the project specific needs and ensure that all work meets the high standards and quality expected.
* Be responsible for producing programmes and costs for all engineering and drawing office work and be able to manage / monitor this to achieve the deliverable deadlines and targets.
* Provide support and guidance to other members of the engineering team.
* Liaise and provide support and advice to other departments within the business including estimating, fabrication, quality and site as required for the successful delivery of projects.
* Liaise with and attend project meetings with Clients and Engineers.
* Prepare RFI’s / TQ’s and submit to Contracts Manager for onward submittal to Client, Engineer or Architect for technical related queries.
* Assist in the implementation and roll out of a BIM management system.
* Attend weekly progress meetings and project handover meetings to represent the Engineering department.
Technical Manager Key Skills / Experience / Knowledge
The ideal candidate will:
* Be a good leader and be able to motivate other members of the team.
* Have good managerial and organisational skills to effectively manage a team of Engineers and Detailers to meet the demands of the business.
* Have structural steelwork experience and a good knowledge of the steel fabrication industry.
* Possess a good working knowledge of BIM, to assist with the development and implementation of BIM policy and procedure.
* Build and maintain good relations with all staff, clients and their project team personnel to promote the company values.
* Have a sound knowledge of TEKLA
