About the role:
As a SEN-TA Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism spectrum disorder who are non-verbal in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You will work closely with classroom teachers and other support staff to implement individualised learning plans, provide one-on-one support, and create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

• Previous experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder preferred• Understanding of non-verbal communication methods and strategies• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to work effectively as part of a team• Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for all students
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one support to students with autism spectrum disorder who are non-verbal• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to ensure the needs of all students are met• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as needed• You'll guide students in using communication aids like AAC devices and picture exchange systems, enabling them to express themselves effectively. Your support empowers students to engage in learning and enhances their communication skills, fostering independence and positive social interactions.
