Human Factors Safety Engineer - Remote with travel - £49,310 to £62,399In recent years, there's been a greater emphasis from HSE on ensuring that organisations carry out adequate human factors work as part of their safety assurance. And that's why we need you.
As a Human Factors Safety Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing human-centred safety strategies, working closely with the Hazard Study Leaders, both in the identification and delivery of work. You'll be the primary source of knowledge and expertise for human factors, deliver specific human factors related assignments and lead relevant exercises such as Safety Critical Task Analysis.
You'll also develop and update the human factors policy and contribute to risk assessment studies such as HAZOP and LOPA.
You will hold a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline and will either be a Chartered member of the Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors, or working your way towards this. You'll have the ability to write clear instructions and procedures and have an interest in developing your human factors expertise in the energy industries.
An understanding of hazard identification in the process industries would be ideal. You will work in the Safety Engineering Team with other professionals championing the safe design and operation of our assets.

Travel will be part of the job – we have a national portfolio. You'll spend approx. 40% of your working week travelling and working on sites with home working in-between. Therefore, it’s essential you hold a full UK driving licence.
