Created to support projects localised in the UK, the entity’s mission is to promote TRACTEBEL as a key player of the nuclear business in the UK.nTractebel is part of a consortium in charge of the design and detailing of the reinforced concrete structures of the Nuclear Island of Hinkley Point C (HPC) Nuclear Power Plant, currently one of the world’s largest construction projects. HPC is set to be the benchmark for future construction of similar projects in the UK such as Sizewell C (SZC).nYou will be part of a dynamic, highly motivated and multicultural team. Your jobnWe are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to work on the design and construction of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplants.nYour responsibilities will include analysing the input data received from the Client, investigating previous calculations, performing structural calculation on ANSYS software, preparation or updating of the associated reports.nDepending on the project you will be affected (HPC or SZC), you will be involved in the activities undertaken by our local team, which will include:

HPC project:nRespond to civil works contractor’s queries related to the design packages released by the Back-Office;nAnalyse Request For Information (RFI) and provide clarification to the site;nAnalyse Field Change Requests (FCR) from the site and assess their feasibility;nAnalyse Non-Conformance Report (NCR) from the civil works contractor and assess the proposed repair solution or propose additional measures;nProvide quick assessment on reinforcement concrete issues (hand calculations);nPerform or adapt Ansys Finite Element Models (FEM) in response to FCR and NCR.

SZC projectnAnalyse the input received from the SZC Client,nLiaise with the SZC Client to obtain the clarification needed,nLiaise with the Tractebel HPC France Office to understand the previous calculations performed on HPC,nPerform (or adapt) Ansys Finite Element Models (FEM) calculation on SZC project;nWrite down the SZC associated reports.nKeep an interrogative attitude during all the process and be able to challenge the input and the results, based on your engineering judgement.

Your profilenTo be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:nMEng in Civil or Structural Engineering;nWorking towards either the ICE or the IStructE;nExperience in the use of Ansys or equivalent structural FEM software;nExperience in reinforced concrete calculation and design;nExperience in nuclear or complex industrial projects;nWorking familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and industry Standards (ETC-C, Eurocodes and British Standard);nProficient in using MS Office Suite, Excel and Word especially;nProgramming skills in one or several languages are a plus;nExcellent verbal and written communication skills;nProactive individual who can work collaboratively within a multicultural team;nAgile and self-motivated towards improving personal performance and able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges;nAbility to work to deadlines;nYou enjoy new challenges and are keen to learn and willing to take responsibility whilst also wanting to support others within our team .
