IT Risk Management Consultant – Global Investment Banking Firm


Robert Half is supporting their client, a leading Global consulting Firm, in their search for an IT Risk Management Consultant with experience in financial services or investment banking. The role will support a global consulting firm and their end client, a leading global investment banking firm, in assessing their IT risk landscape and developing a roadmap for improvement, with a focus on maturing their IT risk management processes.


Contract Assignment Details :

  • Location : London (Hybrid Working – 3 days per week in-office, flexible remote working for the right candidate)
  • Duration : Initial 3 months (with strong likelihood of extension to implement the action plan)
  • Day Rate : £650 - £700 via PAYE (employer’s NI & tax deducted at source – no umbrella company fees)
  • Start Date : ASAP subject to onboarding subject to standard financial & Criminal background checks.


Key Responsibilities :

The IT Risk Management Consultant will assess the current state of IT risk management for the end client, develop recommendations, and provide a roadmap for maturing their processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • IT Risk Assessment : Assess the current IT risk landscape, including operational risk management policy and Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs).
  • Risk Monitoring : Evaluate the effectiveness of the client’s risk monitoring and reporting processes, which are currently Excel-based and approximately 18 months into implementation.
  • Maturity Roadmap : Develop a strategic roadmap for maturing the IT risk management processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with senior stakeholders, including the Head of Operational Resilience, to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.
  • Long-Term Engagement : Strong likelihood of retention to implement the IT risk management action plan over a longer term.


Requirements :

  • Proven experience in IT risk management, ideally within financial services or investment banking.
  • Ability to assess current IT risk processes and develop practical recommendations for improvement.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, such as the Head of Operational Resilience.
  • Familiarity with operational risk management frameworks and RCSAs.
  • High level of flexibility to work both remotely and on-site as needed.
