Join Our Team as a Sous Chef

The Hadley Bowling Green is a charming Elizabethan pub located in Hadley Heath in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside, near historic Droitwich Spa. We are a hotel, pub, and restaurant steeped in history, dating back to the 16th century, with one of the oldest bowling greens in Britain adjacent to our spacious beer garden. On the menu you'll find delicious seasonal dishes and exciting takes on pub classics, with award-winning Butcombe craft beer and cask ale behind the bar, plus a great wine and cocktail list.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the Head Chef in producing high-quality food in line with company food brief.
  • Assuming full responsibility for kitchen operations during the absence of the Head Chef, managing duties such as rota management, food safety protocols, and cleaning schedules.
  • Ensuring the food service meets and enhances customer expectations, embodying our company values: Set the Bar High, From the Heart, Raise the Spirits, and Make us the Talk of the Town.
  • Assisting in maintaining gross profit margins through menu planning, stock control, portion management, and menu pricing.
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, food safety, and fire safety regulations within the kitchen.
  • Assisting in ongoing training and development of kitchen team members.
