Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offshore Shift Superintendent with specialized knowledge in inter array cable installation and maintenance to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will oversee offshore operations, ensuring the efficient and safe installation, inspection, and maintenance of inter array cables. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex offshore projects.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Lead and manage offshore shift teams, including technicians and contractors, ensuring all activities align with safety standards and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with onshore management to ensure seamless communication and operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices.

Inter Array Cable Installation and Maintenance:

  • Oversee the installation, inspection, and maintenance of inter array cables in offshore wind farms or similar projects.
  • Ensure all installation procedures are followed according to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to inter array cable systems promptly and effectively.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce and adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining a strong safety culture onboard.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and drills, ensuring all team members are trained and compliant with safety protocols.
  • Ensure all activities comply with environmental and regulatory requirements.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of offshore operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Prepare and review shift reports, documentation, and records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage equipment and resource allocation efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Quality Control:

  • Perform quality inspections of inter array cable installations and maintenance work, ensuring adherence to project standards and specifications.
  • Address any non-conformities and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or training in offshore operations and inter array cable systems are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore operations with a focus on inter array cable installation and maintenance. Previous experience in a supervisory role is required.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of inter array cable systems, installation techniques, and maintenance procedures. Proficiency in using relevant tools and equipment.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in overseeing diverse offshore teams.
  • Safety and Compliance: Demonstrated commitment to safety, with knowledge of offshore safety regulations and best practices.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with onshore teams and stakeholders.
