Stratforduponavon, United Kingdom NFU Mutual Full time
  • Utilise your broad experience in data analysis by gathering requirements from stakeholders, manipulating data in SQL, and displaying and presenting dashboards.
  • Opportunity to join our growing Data Centre of Excellence team.
  • Hybrid up to 80% homeworking available and 20% in Stratford-upon-Avon.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our Data Centre of Excellence on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working within a project environment, you'll play an important role in delivering end to end data analysis for the business, from gathering requirements from stakeholders, to manipulating data in SQL and displaying and presenting information within dashboards. Using your understanding of insights, you'll create documentation that can be implemented into Business as Usual, using your broad range of skills from data analytics and data manipulation to data presentation and stakeholder management.

As a Data Analyst, you'll consult with business stakeholders to understand the business and the data they need to drive value and insights from. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with business stakeholders, you'll provide subject matter expertise and guidance to increase insight capabilities and maximise added value from our data usage. You'll design and build dashboards and reports that enable us to make predictions based on robust data and clear assumptions, supporting improved decision making and identifying opportunities to improve business outcomes.

It's an exciting time to join NFU Mutual as we continue to shape and grow our Data Centre of Excellence to support key strategic programmes and deliver our data strategy. We're focused on making the right data accessible to the right people across the business and on creating a data literate organisation, so our people get the most value from data. It's about harnessing the power of data to improve experiences for our people, our customers, and our business. And you can play a key role.

About you

As a Data Analyst, you'll have the ability to cultivate and sustain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. You'll have excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. You'll have strong reasoning skills, with the capability to evaluate and interpret large and complex datasets, identify trends and patterns, and derive actionable insights to support business objectives.

You'll also have:

  • Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and optimise queries for data extraction, transformation, and evaluation. (essential)
  • Extensive experience in Power BI (or comparable) for dashboarding and reporting, including the development of interactive and visually compelling dashboards to drive data-driven decision-making. (essential)
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering strategic data projects within the insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry (highly desirable).

At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique. We celebrate the creativity and innovation that comes from diverse perspectives and experiences and share a common vision of doing the right thing for our customers and employees.

We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during the recruitment process. So, we encourage candidates to discuss any adjustments or accommodations they need to be the best they can be throughout our recruitment process.

We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer, a Race at Work and Women in Finance Charter signatory and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity, disability, neurodiversity, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background.

Benefits and Rewards

When you join our team, you can expect a supportive culture and an attractive range of rewards and benefits including:

  • Up to £52,000 annual salary (depending on experience)
  • Annual bonus (up to 17.5% of salary)
