Senior Systems & Security Engineer

to join our London team. In this role, you will will play a key role in our technical delivery team by working with a Client Technology Manager (CTM) to drive the technology programs, including Cloud implementation and support, desktop engineering escalation, networking, and information security for a defined portfolio of clients. Using the latest and greatest technologies and solutions, you will support the clients innovation by following a set of standards and best practices in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.This is a

hybrid

role with a strong preference for candidates to be based in the London area.What you will do:Collaborate with, and act as a tier 3 escalation point for Client Technology Management, Service Desk, Engineering and other client support teams.Provide advanced support of cloud infrastructures such as Microsoft 365/Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and ECIs proprietary technology.Implement and manage enterprise mail platform and security systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Google Workspace, Proofpoint Essentials and MimecastExecute basic tasks on enterprise switching, routing, security, and wireless systems like VLAN changes, ACL updates, key rotations, and port reconfigurations.Take ownership of complex technical challenges and provide long term fixes based on root cause analysis.Document processes and procedures which explain system functionality or regular tasks to contribute to our internal knowledge base including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOP)Audit undocumented client environments and provide technical recommendations based on findings.Apply best-practice configurations to client security platforms such as Azure Active Directory Conditional Access, DUO Multifactor Authentication (MFA) services, and zero-trust services such as Cloudflare and iBossProvide high-level consultation on information security fundamentals such as good password hygiene practices, multi-factor authentication recommendations and social engineering defense.Perform system maintenance tasks including software and operating system patching, software version upgrades, critical patch applications, and vulnerability remediation.Provide advanced support of Active Directory such as Domain Controller upgrades, Group Policy creation, scheduled software deployments, network policy maintenance, and certificate management.Interface with common technology support tools such as Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM), Mobile Device/Mobile Application Management, Anti-Virus/Anti-MalwareCollaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery of project implementations, migrations, and upgrades.Acting as a technical lead for small projects and maintaining accountability to delivery of scope.Provide detailed solutions for systems integration with relevant implementation and support plans.Identify and address potential security risks.Implement and manage backup solutions, ensuring data is effectively protected and can be restored in case of loss.Review and implement retention policies to manage the lifecycle of data and ensure compliance with legal and company requirements.Follow Account management best practices to ensure secure and efficient access to systems and data.Interface with advanced Vulnerability scanning tools, analyse reports and provide accurate remediation plans.Ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of data and systems. This includes the deployment and administration of security tools and remediations.Who you are:Bachelors Degree in an Information Technology related field, or 3+ years comparable experience in a technology administration roleAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, e.g., Windows Server and Windows 10/11Administration experience with Public Cloud platforms with focus in Microsoft 365 and AzureExperience in administration of e-mail platforms and security integrations such as Exchange Online, Google Workspace, Proofpoint Essentials, and MimecastExperience with the Change Management and Control processes.Experience in virtualization administration on platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-VHands on experience in deployment and management of routing, switching, wireless, and security appliance technologies using vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and MerakiHands on experience in managing security tools/systems.Proficient in Identity Management and following Privileged Accounts administration practices.Proficient in incident response management during security events and high-priority escalations, as well as disaster recovery and business continuity activationsExceptional written and oral communication skillsExceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building and managing expectations.Bonus points if you have:Experience with Managed Service Providers (MSP) preferred.Financial Services or Life Science industry experience a plusKnowledge of Vulnerability scanning tools such as Qualys and Tenable preferred.Certifications in cloud services, network management or cyber-security, such as CCNA, CISSP, Azure Fundamentals and VCP a plus but not required.Experience in technical project management as applied to data/infrastructure migrations, integrations, relocations, major system upgrades, and new site deployments.ECIs culture is all about connection - connection with our clients, our technology and most importantly with each other.
