Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our team starting in September 2024. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and able to inspire students across a range of Humanities subjects, including History, Geography, and Religious Studies. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and contributing to the academic and personal development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Humanities subjects to students of varying abilities.
Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum and school policies.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and senior staff.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, school events, and initiatives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational best practices and developments in Humanities education.Qualifications and Experience:
A relevant degree in a Humanities subject (History, Geography, Religious Studies, etc.).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
Proven experience teaching Humanities subjects at the secondary school level.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for education.Desirable Attributes:
Experience with exam preparation and assessment at the GCSE and A-Level.
Familiarity with the latest educational technology and its application in the classroom.
