Job Requirements



Essential:



  • 5 years’ experience visually inspecting in-service pipework
  • Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) experience
  • Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) or Engineering Technician (EngTech) registration as defined by the Engineering Council


Desirable:



  • ASME Plant Inspector L1
  • API 570
  • Site Safety Passport

Role



Stork are currently looking for a UKAS RG2 Category 3 Pipework Inspection Engineer to work onshore on an oil refinery in the Cheshire region. The role will mainly involve searching for Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) of process pipework. A successful candidate would need to have had previous experience inspecting pipework for CUI. i.e. identifying CUI susceptible areas for insulation removal followed by a visual conditional assessment of the pipework post insulation removal.



Tasks and Responsibilities of an Inspection Engineer:



  • Preparation of pipework inspection work scopes to satisfy the Written Schemes of Examination. (WSoE) I.e. specify access, insulation removal and NDT requirements.
  • Carry out visual examinations of pipework in accordance with the WSoE.
  • Preparation of high quality inspection reports, accurately describing the assets condition.
  • Grade corrosion against company procedure corrosion scales. Raise mandatory defects when the acceptable limits have been breached.
  • Interface with NDT team to provide clarification on NDT inspection techniques in order to meet integrity objectives.
  • Review PRV certification. Ensure the device is correctly set and is overhauled/tested on a set frequency.
  • Review WSE and inspection frequency post inspection to confirm accuracy and relevancy.
  • Participate in the Risk Based Assessment programme for pressure systems equipment.



Excellent market rates on offer with PAYE and LTD company options available. Roles on offer will involve in-service plant inspections based on a refinery plant.
