Job purpose Being a Mechanical Technician at Sofidel is no ordinary feet. Here at Sofidel our Mechanical Technicians support the back bone of what we do on a day to day basis and play a vital role in maintaining our high standards. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor this role guarantees the maintenance of mechanical processes in a manner that will ensure the highest reliability within the shift. Working with one of Europes largest suppliers of soft tissue hygiene products, this role offers crucial support to the manufacturing process of our finished product that you buy on the shelves. Working to the highest standards, this role provides bags of learning potential, bags of hands-on expierence and bags of fun.
Main Responsibilities
Provide first hand intervention when there is a mechanical breakdown and assist with troubleshooting of equipment problems
Repair and perform preventive maintenance as per established standards and plans
To check equipment and operating systems and correct wherever necessary
To ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality
Complete maintenance care obligations and render assistance in equipment repair as necessary
To perform quality improvement and cost reduction and productivity as obligated
To oversee mechanical devices while in operation and listen for complications using accurate testing and measuring instruments
To take out inoperative parts by disassembling devices with the use specific tools
Regulate downtime by enlightening production staff on standard preventive maintenance methods
Maintain records and files if requested
To participate in emergency on-call duty on a rotational basis and work all shifts flexibly when job demands
Ensure a high level of housekeeping of the working area is maintained throughout the shift
To ensure health & safety rules are adhered to Hours of work: 
2 days / 2 nights / 4 off 
12 hours shifts
