This is an exciting new Deputy Head of Treasury position reporting into the Head of Treasury & Capital Markets at an international bank.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall management for the Bank’s liquidity profile, ensuring that appropriate levels of liquidity are maintained in line with strategic and prudential requirements.
  • Supervise a small team of Treasury Dealers, who are responsible for the Bank’s Interest rate risk strategy within defined parameters
  • Deputise for the Head of Treasury, particularly regarding fixed income investment and trading and implementing strategies in a profitable manner.
  • Manage the Bank’s foreign exchange exposure
  • Manage the Bank’s Money Market and Cash management portfolio including HQLA
  • Key profit & loss responsibility for FX Income, fixed income and money market activities.
  • Develop and maintain commercial relationships with correspondent Banks, Sovereigns, and Central Bank’s and Governments
  • Make a significant contribution to the implementation of the Bank’s Strategy by supporting the Head of Treasury in meeting targets owned by the department
  • Drive Treasury and Global Markets activities towards attainment of financial targets in line with Bank’s strategy
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of strategic funding partners
  • Provide technical support to ALCO for effective decision making
  • Oversee day to day trading activity, managing the Market, liquidity, interest rate, and credit risk of all trade related activity
  • Manage the Bank’s Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange Risks
  • Ascertain the funding requirements of the various business units by assessing their liquidity needs and implementing strategies to provide funding in a most cost-effective manner.
  • Responsibility for being the Business Project Manager for any Treasury related projects commissioned by the Bank


Key Skills & Capabilities

  • Commercially astute and able to develop models and forecasts to drive business growth and improve cash flow.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A minimum of 8 years working in Treasury in Financial Services, ideally in banking
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks.
  • Significant knowledge of trading, risk management, ALM, fixed income and derivatives.
  • Professional qualifications (ACT, CFA, certBALM, or otherwise) would also be beneficial



This role will be based in the City of London, with flexible working offered (three days in the office and two working from home).
