This is a rare opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team, where your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the company’s future, supporting the Managing Director and the Board.
As the Finance Director, your responsibilities will include:
* Strategic Leadership Acting as a critical advisor to the Board, providing insights and recommendations to support business growth;
* Financial Control Full responsibility for finance control and business reporting, including timely production of monthly management accounts and Board reports on financial performance;
* Budget Management Preparing and presenting budgets, collaborating closely with the Board Directors;
* Project Accounting Reviewing WIP costs and cost breakdowns for projects, and overseeing the accuracy of all ledgers;
* Compliance and Reporting Managing statutory and legal reporting requirements, and ensuring the timely submission of VAT and CIS returns;
* Team Leadership Leading and developing a small finance team, maintaining high standards of financial management and compliance;
* Operational Involvement Overseeing cash flow management, payroll, and the development of financial systems, particularly in relation to costing and revenue recognition.
Ideally, as Finance Director you will have these skills and attributes:
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent;
* A strong background in manufacturing or construction, with expertise in Work in Progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) for application for payment processes;
* Proven track record at the Board level, with the ability to lead and develop a finance team;
* Exceptional numerical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on detail;
* Experience managing complex, multi-site accounting operations;
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively across all levels;
* A deep understanding of business dynamics and the ability to contribute to the company’s growth strategy;
* Capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
* A proactive approach to enhancing processes and driving efficiency.
