About the role

We are looking for Head of Content to join our AMA Research team. This is a remote role, with the requirement to visit the Head office in Cheshire Oaks (near Chester), once a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will have overall responsibility for managing the AMA Research Content Team and for delivery of AMA Research published report output.
  • Line-management of 2 or 3 Research Managers and a dedicated Data Analyst.
  • Working with your team you will be responsible for identifying resources, planning and delivering the schedule of report delivery, and assigning project responsibilities.
  • Overall responsibility for management of freelance consultants who support AMA Research through the different stages of report production.
  • As well as managing the report production to agreed schedule, team management and editorial control of report output, you will be expected to take responsibility for a set of market reports, this focus enables development of expertise and specialism.
  • You will be writing reports yourself, and where a freelancer has drafted a report it will be your responsibility to edit and publish their final report.
  • You will be required to build your own profile within the subject area through attending conferences and exhibitions, and through social media.
  • You will manage and use established in house methods and tools to enable swift analysis of data and development of market commentary and forecasting. You will be required to draw out market stats and perspectives.
  • Reports are produced using desk research, data analysis and qualitative interviews, using primary and secondary sources to build a view of the market.
  • You’ll need to be comfortable setting up and managing multiple projects at a time and keeping them on track.
  • As well as working in an editorial role in producing the market reports, you will be involved in creating the content for marketing materials related to the report, including web pages, press releases and video commentary, and occasionally articles for journals and blog posts.
  • Liaising the AMA Director, Head of Consultancy, the Content Team, Marketing and wider team to develop and improve the AMA Research report proposition.
  • To be the “face” of AMA Research reports and present to clients and events when required.
  • As all of our work is in markets associated with the built environment you will need to have an interest in and ideally experience of working in this space, and be able to keep abreast of new developments, trends and information
  • Project Management skills and experience including resource planning
  • Experience of managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Team management and cross-functional working, including management of both internal and external team members, ensuring deliverables are met
  • An analytical, questioning mindset
  • Previous experience in research looking at data and statistics, especially company data and official statistics and reporting.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel such as Pivot tables and Graphs
  • Strong data analysis skills, especially the ability to derive insight from data
  • Expertise in research techniques both quantitative and qualitative
  • First-class report writing experience and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in trends analysis and market forecasting
  • Experience of the built environment is highly desirable
  • Membership of the MRS is desirable
