Location: Bethlem Royal Hospital Beckenham, London
Contract Type: Locum 3 month contract
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Duties of the Community Mental Health Nurse:
Supporting service users who have been / are known to the criminal justice system, and have spent 5+ more years in an inpatient setting.  They may have experienced difficult discharges in the past necessitating intensive support from the team to reduce this risk.
Assessing inpatient service users referred into the team for caseload suitability.
Case management that includes routine reviews of patient mental state, risk assessment, risk management planning, care plans, physical health screens.
Candidates will also be required to administer depot medication.
Liaise with various stake holders including carers / relatives, supported housing providers, Jigsaw Team, National Probation Service, Police , MAPPA, Housing Services, Inpatient services, Social Services and other outpatient services.
Attend CPA reviews, tribunals, associate managers hearings, inpatient discharge planning meetings  / ward rounds.
Complete quarterly MOJ reports and send referral forms and safeguarding referrals to Social Work Team when required.
Requirements of the Community Mental Health Nurse:
Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
Experience working as a Community Psychiatric Nurse
NMC Registration
Experience working in an NHS setting
Familiar with EPJS (SLAM’s patient journey system).
