Job Title: Freelance Python Developer - Float & Asana Continuous Integration


Job Description:


We are seeking an experienced freelance software developer to create a custom, continuous integration between Float (resource scheduling tool) and Asana (project management tool) using Python and RESTful APIs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a robust and scalable solution that seamlessly integrates these two platforms, enabling real-time data synchronisation and streamlining workflows.


Responsibilities:


- Develop a Python-based application to continuously integrate Float and Asana using their respective RESTful APIs.

- Implement data mapping and transformation logic to synchronise project names, task names, assigned resources/people, time entries, and dates between the two platforms.

- Design and implement efficient data synchronisation mechanisms to keep data up-to-date across both systems in real-time.

- Implement error handling, logging, and failure recovery mechanisms to ensure the reliability and maintainability of the integration solution.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the requirements and ensure the solution meets their needs.

- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices and industry standards.

- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the integration's functionality and stability.

- Implement automated deployment and monitoring processes for the integration solution.


Requirements:


- Proven experience in Python programming and RESTful API development.

- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts.

- Familiarity with popular Python web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django).

- Experience with API integration, data mapping, and real-time synchronisation techniques.

- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet aggressive deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:


- Experience with Float and/or Asana platforms.

- Knowledge of agile development methodologies.

- Understanding of cloud computing concepts and services.

- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
