I am working with a global leader in electric motors and electro-mechanical components industry, who is looking for a senior indirect tax compliance specialist to join the team on a 24 month contract.


The role focuses on European VAT compliance obligations for the Group. This is an office based role (5 days in the office) in Newcastle upon Tyne, paying up to £65,000 dependent on experience.


The role focuses on European VAT compliance obligations for the Group. The primary duties are:


  • Prepare VAT returns filling in various jurisdictions in a timely manner
  • Managing all indirect tax compliance and reporting for VAT, EC sales and Intrastat obligations
  • Support automation and improvements of processes
  • Assist in implementation of VAT related legal requirements
  • Complete the VAT balance sheet account reconciliations and other VAT related accounting tasks
  • Identify and improve efficiency in indirect tax compliance tasks
  • Support internal and external stakeholders in daily VAT matters
  • ​​​​​​​Assist ad hoc tax audits in various European countries


The ideal candidate will have European indirect tax experience and will have worked in house previously.
