Key Responsibilities:
1. **Cost Estimation and Analysis:**
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical works related to energy and utilities projects.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost forecasts and budgets.
2. **Tendering and Procurement:**
- Prepare and manage tender documentation, including bills of quantities and specifications.
- Evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and recommend contractors and suppliers.
3. **Project Financial Management:**
- Monitor project costs and track expenditures against budgets.
- Prepare and process interim valuations, claims, and change orders.
- Conduct cost reviews and provide financial reports to project managers and stakeholders.
4. **Contract Administration:**
- Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Manage variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring all financial aspects are properly documented and addressed.
5. **Quality and Compliance:**
- Ensure that mechanical and electrical works comply with industry standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, quality, and cost performance.
6. **Risk Management:**
- Identify and assess financial risks associated with projects.
- Implement mitigation strategies and provide recommendations to manage risks effectively.
7. **Documentation and Reporting:**
- Maintain comprehensive records of project financials, including cost reports, invoices, and payment schedules.
- Prepare regular reports on financial status, project progress, and cost variations.
8. **Client Liaison:**
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to resolve financial and contractual issues.
- Provide expert advice and support on financial aspects of projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on mechanical and electrical works in the energy and utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and related financial processes.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
