Staff DevOps Engineer

European Recruitment are working closely with a leading semicon company, based in Cambridge, who are looking for an experienced

Staff DevOps Engineer

to join their team.

In this role you will join a Toolchain Performance team which works on a diverse range of compilers and toolchains and tackle software performance challenges.

Responsibilities as

Staff DevOps Engineer :nMaintaining a board farm of hardware devices used for validation and benchmarking.nCrafting, maintaining and extending the automated testing and benchmarking infrastructure.nExtending existing software to suit our needs or writing new glue between systems.nDebugging problems across the stack: from data visualisation packages to Linux kernel crashes.nProvisioning and handling various Cloud Infrastructure.nImplementing custom solutions for reporting and aggregating results.

Requirements:nGood knowledge of software engineering and experience working with Cloud, CI and Testing.nFamiliarity with Linux development and administration environments through scripting and command-line.nKnowledge of version control such as Git.nAdvanced scripting knowledge, for example Python, Bash.nExperience leading or designing projects to improve efficiency and quality of sophisticated and widely used software.

Desirable Experience:nExperience of build automation tooling like TeamCity or Jenkins.nUnderstanding of the performance metrics of compilers, assemblers and linkersnExperience configuring and installing hardware in a board or server farm, including maintenance through debugging problems and updating firmware, operating systems etc.nFamiliarity with web frontend frameworks such as Flask, CSS, HTML5, Bootstrap, ReactJS.nPerformance tracking and visualisation.
