Interim Commercial Consultant - £500-£600 per day inside IR35 (Initial 6 months)

We are currently seeking a Procurement/Commercial interim professional who has experience working with NEC forms of contract (Including PSC/ECC), as well as scope authoring and tender management for an initial 6 month contract.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Consultant to play a key role in the development of a comprehensive scope and specification for a state-of-the-art defence facility. As a Commercial Consultant, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in commercial management, requirements development and scope authoring, and project development to ensure the successful execution of this critical stage of the project.

Responsibilities:nScope and Specification Development:nCollaborate with key stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.nConduct thorough market research to identify industry best practices and innovative solutions.nDevelop a detailed scope and specification document that aligns with the project goals and complies with relevant regulations and standards.nFacilitate updates to the Client’s standards, specifications, and guidelines.nProvide strategic guidance on the development and implementation of procurement strategies and methodologies.nCommercial Strategy Alignment:nFormulate a Scope which aligns with the Client’s commercial strategy that optimises cost-effectiveness, risk mitigation, and value for the project.nIdentify potential commercial opportunities and challenges, providing recommendations for resolution.nFinancial Analysis Support:nSupport financial analysis of the Scope to evaluate the cost implications of different project components.nRisk Management Support:nSupport the risk identification process by helping to identify potential risks associated with the project and develop strategies for their mitigation.nCollaborate with the project team to establish contingency plans and risk response mechanisms to be embedded within the Scope.nCommission Management:nEnsure multiple stakeholders are managed so that technical decisions are being supported with commercial and procurement advice.nEnsure processes are implemented to ensure a robust audit trail of decisions taken in the development of the contract documents.nProvide regular progress reporting to the Associate Director and the Client team.

Qualifications:nBachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Law or a construction related field.nGood experience (minimum 4 years) in commercial consulting or construction delivery, with a focus on defence or large-scale construction projects.nStrong knowledge of contract law, project management principles, and government procurement processes.nExceptional communication and written skills.nAnalytical mindset with proficiency in commercial management of complex construction works and services.nSC level clearance (desirable, not essential).nHolds or is working towards relevant professional accreditation (MRICS) (desirable, not essential).
