Amsterdam The Netherlands, United Kingdom Canon EMEA Full time

Job Purpose and Summary

Are you a passionate VAT Compliance Manager? Do you enjoy process management and technology?"  Are you also eager to make a real impact in a global company? Canon Europa, the world’s best imaging company and a leading global brand, is looking for a VAT Compliance Process Owner to join our dynamic tax team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring Canon's VAT compliance and improving the process across the EMEA region with as much automation as possible. .

If you are ready to bring your expertise and enthusiasm to a collaborative and innovative environment, we want you on our team Together, we will navigate complex VAT reporting requirements, drive process improvements, and contribute to the success of our business.

You'll be responsible for the VAT compliance of Canon Europa's 20 VAT numbers in EMEA and for automating the VAT compliance process as much as possible. You'll be working with a variety of departments in the headquarters of Canon in EMEA (Finance, IT, Marketing, Sales etc.).

Canon has complex business processes and supply chains, import, export, local and intra-community purchases and sales of both goods and services. The amount of VAT data in Canon’s ERP systems continues to increase. At the same time, digital reporting requirements and e-invoicing are implemented in more and more countries where Canon is present. These trends require both VAT knowledge and data skills.

Canon is on a journey moving away from the more traditional VAT compliance process by maximizing the automation of the VAT processes so that you have time to focus on the more complex issues instead of focusing on gathering and combining data. Part of this journey is a fundamental redesign of the current compliance process whereby this process will become Tax Department responsibility. With your expertise and skills, you can contribute by designing, implementing and optimizing the VAT compliance process in Canon.

What we give

Our tax department consists of six experienced members who collaborate closely, engaging in direct and open communication. We are involved in various projects and initiatives, continually implementing changes to meet evolving digital reporting and e-invoicing requirements. Here’s what our team members say about working at Canon:

"Canon provides a great variety of VAT challenges. As VAT department we’re functioning as a spider in a web, as VAT is everywhere in the organization. From every purchase, stock movement, to eventually every sale, VAT plays a vital role. We need to understand the end-to-end process in detail to make sure Canon is compliant. We’re involved in many projects where we are in contact with many departments, from HR to IT and from Procurement to Sales. Never a dull moment at Canon“ - Rob, EMEA VAT Manager
