Gosport, United Kingdom Fortice Full time

Fortice are working closely with an exciting and well-established company to bring on a number of Acoustic Scientists/Engineers.

You'll be working collaboratively in both a hands-on/practical and theoretical approach across several new and ongoing programmes of work. It's a great chance to take ownership of your work while collaborating across the wider teams and progress your career in a way that suits you.

In turn, you'll be making use of state-of-the-art facilities, more specifically in the hydrodynamic and hydroacoustic space.

Sounds like something that might be interesting? Here a bit about what to expect...

Activities may include knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Experimental and theoretical aero/hydroacoustics
  • Acoustic noise and vibration measurements in air and water with transducers
  • Laser Doppler measurements of turbulent flows
  • Laser Doppler measurements of vibration
  • Development of numerical models using MATLAB
  • Use of numerical tools such as CFD, finite element and boundary element
  • Design of test equipment, acoustic instrumentation and physical hydroacoustic models
  • Signal processing including acoustic source imaging and modal analysis
  • Acoustic data analysis and presentation
  • Reporting and presentation of complex technical concepts

Given the new and existing projects, there are a number of positions available from graduate level through to mid-level and highly experienced hires. The team are focused on bringing in the right people; someone who will make a strong technical and cultural fit, whilst eager to get stuck in with a range of work.

A background in Mathematics, Physics or with ISVR would certainly help you hit the ground running but is not essential.

Security Clearance: You'll be required to hold or be eligible for SC clearance.
