Title - Senior Back End Developer

Company Overview: We are an innovative startup in the blockchain industry, currently at the pre-seed funding stage and working towards developing our MVP. Our aim is to grow significantly over the next 1-2 years, and we offer equity in the form of tokens as part of our competitive compensation package.


Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to spearhead the development of our backend systems. This role involves significant technical leadership and offers the opportunity for career growth. You will work directly with the CEO and CTO in a high-pressure, dynamic environment towards the successful delivery of our MVP.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop backend systems using Nest.js, with a focus on scalable, maintainable, and secure architecture.
  • Build real-time data processing pipelines and order book management for our crypto trading platform.
  • Integrate APIs and data sources with high integrity and security.
  • Ensure optimal performance for high throughput, low-latency applications.
  • Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and implement best practices.
  • Work with frontend teams to ensure smooth API integration and user experience.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, including 2+ years with Nest.js.
  • Expertise in SQL/NoSQL, real-time systems, and WebSocket implementation.
  • Leadership experience in team management and project planning.
  • Strong background in financial, trading, or blockchain systems.


Must-Haves:

  • Extensive experience with NestJS, including architecture and design of complex systems.
  • Proven track record of building high-performance, scalable backend systems.
  • Strong leadership and startup experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both technical and interpersonal.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in creating distributed systems with low latency and high fault tolerance.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous experience in the blockchain or Web3 industry.
  • Experience with various databases and messaging systems.
  • Ability to work in remote-first environments with flexibility in time zones.
  • Prior experience in similar high-growth startups or high-performance environments.
