Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer / Senior Buyer to join our client's Procurement & Supply Chain department. This role involves procuring materials, plant, sub-contract, and services across all business units, with a strong focus on leveraging existing and new framework agreements to drive process optimisation, innovation, and carbon reduction solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management: Handle the procurement of materials, plant, sub-contract, and services requirements across all business units.
Framework Agreements: Maximise the use of existing and new framework agreements for the benefit of the client.
Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement effective strategic procurement solutions to support bidding opportunities, projects, and operational businesses.
Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with the client’s governance and procurement processes and procedures.
Collaboration: Work closely with the wider procurement network of the group in the UK and EMEA region.
Tender Delivery: Deliver procurement tenders on time, in compliance with requirements, and within budget.
International Sourcing: Utilise international sourcing capabilities to benefit the client.
Approval Processes: Review and approve procurement requests from COUPA.
Category Leadership: Lead specific procurement categories, manage strategy production, implementation, follow-up, and supplier relationships.
Low Carbon Solutions: Source and oversee the testing and implementation of low carbon solutions on-site.
Policy Adherence: Comply with all client and Group policies, including ethical guidelines.
Reporting: Report individual procurement activities and performance against department KPIs.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree and/or professional qualifications in procurement/supply chain management (e.g., CIPS).
* Proven experience as a buyer or senior buyer, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry.
* Familiarity with Procurement ERP systems (e.g., COUPA, SAP, Oracle).
* Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in an international environment.
* Understanding of low carbon solutions and sustainability practices in procurement.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
