About the Company
The City of Westminster Council are currently seeking a Play Worker to join their team. As an Ofsted regulated service, this company is committed to providing high-quality support work and personal care to children and families whose children have multiple disabilities.
This role is for Saturdays and school holidays.
About the Role
The Play Worker will be responsible for contributing to the planning and delivery of a broad programme of play opportunities including sports, games, arts, crafts, activities on site and in the community. This role will involve providing personal care and ensuring the health and safety of those in their care. The successful candidate will also be required to work with parents/carers, staff and other agencies to support programs designed to enhance the child or young person's development and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad programme of play opportunities
Provide personal care
Ensure the health and safety of those in their care
Work with parents/carers, staff and other agencies to support programs designed to enhance the child or young person's development and wellbeing
Monitor and evaluate activities within a quality framework including report writingRequirements
Experience of working with children and families whose children have multiple disabilities in a professional capacity
Knowledge of issues relating to learning, sensory and physical disabilities
Knowledge and understanding of the needs of children/young people from different cultures, ethnic and religious backgrounds and those with disabilities
Ability to organise activities on and off site and encourage active participation of young people
Patience and understanding of the needs of the children/young people with multiple disabilitiesHow to Apply
