The role

As the Principal QA at Davies Technology Solutions , you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the QA function within our organisation. Reporting directly to the Director of Transformation, you will provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and oversight to a team of QAs. You will play an integral part in ensuring the quality, monitoring and successful delivery of our project and product software platforms. You will own our organisational KPIs and help embed quality across DTS.



Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive quality strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and report on the effectiveness of the quality assurance program.
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance specialists and their respective managers, fostering a culture of excellence, rigor, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team maintains the highest quality standards.
  • Review the current QA Function, and define the structure, and roles and responsibilities for the team.
  • Continuously assess and improve quality assurance processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy that aligns with our goals and objectives. This includes defining the scope of testing, testing methodologies, and test plans.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate testing tools and frameworks to support the QA process. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the QA field.
  • Define and track key performance indicators related to the QA process. Generate reports to provide insights into the quality of software releases.
  • Generate regular reports on product and process quality, highlighting areas of concern and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide clear and actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Provide input in the due diligence of potential acquisitions/partners.
  • Work with the wider DTS team to embed quality across all areas of DTS.
  • Monthly to quarterly travel to Norwich and other offices as requested.



Key skills and experience required.

  • Extensive experience in quality assurance and testing, with a proven track record of implementing and leading quality programs.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in quality assurance tools, methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Experience in regulated industries, such as insurance or banking, is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and practices.
  • Dedication to upholding the highest standards of delivery quality.
  • Experience of working in M&A environments may be advantageous
