ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced Behavioural Support Assistant to work in an SEN School in Redditch on a full-time basis.
About the role:
Working with Primary and Secondary aged pupils.
The Behaviour Support Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development within the school setting.
Support students in understanding and regulating their emotions, promoting self-awareness and self-regulation skills.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a consistent and supportive approach to behaviour management.
About the school:
Working with young people with a variety of Special Educational Needs with Social Emotional Mental Health difficulties including Autism, ADHD, Attachment Disorder and Learning difficulties.
All pupils will be provided with opportunities for learning that are engaging, relevant, and they will have the opportunity to voice their opinions in a positive environment.
Staff take learning beyond the classroom and help pupils to learn in a safe space where they can be understood.
Pupils are listened to and encouraged to thrive.
About you:
To be considered for the Behavioural Support Assistant position, you will:
Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
