Job Description:
Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the financial management and cost control of our construction projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Management:
o Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for construction projects.
o Monitor and manage all project costs to ensure that budgets are adhered to and value for money is achieved.
o Conduct cost analysis and cost reporting to stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Contract Administration:
o Manage the preparation, negotiation, and execution of construction contracts.
o Ensure all contract documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
o Administer subcontractor and supplier contracts, including variations and claims.
• Project Management:
o Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other key stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
o Provide input on project planning and scheduling to ensure cost efficiency.
o Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contracts.
• Risk Management:
o Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
o Prepare and present risk assessment reports to senior management.
• Procurement:
o Oversee the procurement process, including the selection and evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors.
o Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Reporting and Documentation:
o Maintain comprehensive records of all project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and payment records.
o Prepare and present regular financial and progress reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional accreditation such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in using quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
