About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Field Sales Engineer to join our
growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business
opportunities within a designated territory by applying your in-depth knowledge of rotating equipment reliability and maintenance solutions. You will mainly focus your actions in promoting laser alignment systems to e.g. mechanical workshops, repair shops, maintenance service providers. You will build strong relationships with key
decision-makers, identify field-user needs, and propose solutions that proactively optimise equipment performance.
Responsibilities
● Develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve or exceed assigned quotas.
● Prospect and qualify leads through various channels (e.g., industry events,
networking, emailing, cold calling).
● Log activity, report actions taken and track performance within the Salesforce
company CRM.
● Conduct needs assessments and propose the most appropriate solutions.
● Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations.
● Negotiate and close sales contracts.
● Be the first technical support interface, essential training and build strong
relationships with existing customers.
● Identify and develop new market opportunities within the assigned territory.
● Travel throughout the assigned territory as required.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
● Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a technical sales role, preferably within the
industrial reliability sector.
● Strong understanding of rotating equipment principles, including motors, pumps,
compressors, turbines, and gearboxes.
● Proven experience in using, promoting or selling reliability and maintenance
solutions for industrial equipment.
● Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to build strong relationships with customers at all levels.
● Strong negotiation and closing skills.
● Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal
supervision.
● Excellent time management and organisational skills.
● Proficiency in laser shaft alignment techniques (a plus not a pre-requisite).
● Valid driver's licence and a willingness to travel (overnight stays may be required).
